Childhood friends to lovers story.
This is a story about a rising rock star and a love-struck girl.
Leah:
I was a fool in love. From the moment I saw him, Carter Matheson had always been it for me. I just wished he felt the same way. We grew up together in poverty, seeking solace in one another through our love for music. His voice swept me off my feet. He sang like an angel, making me forget for a little while that my unrequited love would destroy me.
I thought I’d go to the ends of the earth for him. I thought my future along his side was engrained in stone. But when faced with a decision that would forever change our lives, I need to choose whose dreams to follow.
Mine or his.

Wow...just...wow.

I can not even begin to express how amazing this book was. First off I totally love RJ Lewis and have read all her books and loved them. BUT THIS WAS THE BEST BY FAR. Let me just start off by saying how real the characters are in this book. I mean, my god. I was sitting there dying and experiencing everything with them. Leah was strong, independent, and so open to love. I adored that she fought for love and that she didn't give up. She knew what she wanted and wouldn't settle for less. It was amazing.
BUT CARTER.... oh my god. Sexy as all hell. From the very beginning he was smoldering, and he was only like ten years old. The guy was just all... man. And the way he was with Leah (when he wasn't being a stubborn butt) was amazing. Their struggles, with their past, present and future made each moment seem so unbelievably... (i know i keep saying this but it's so freakin fitting) real. LOVED IT!
It does have a cliffhanger though... and a really intense one. I feel obligated to share this because I hate cliffhangers and sometimes refuse to read books if I see in the comments that there was one. BUT IT'S WORTH IT. Seriously...worth it. So much. Can NOT wait to get to the next one. RJ ya hear me? Better get to writin!

5 million stardust that may or may not have shattered my heart and soul
By TheGeekInPink
I had some inkling about how this was going to play out. SHE clearly stated it. I still read on, I still immersed myself into the characters, I fell in love and I suffered with them, I rejoiced with them and finally I cried buckets with them.
She met him ages ago and she fell hard. He was beautiful and strong and everything good in her life. She who was a lost little kid, who didn't belong with the people she lived with, who had soo little now had something to look forward to. Someone that brightened up her days and existence. He on the other had was the popular kid that everyone looked up to, he was the star and he could SING. Boy, could he sing. He had the voice of an angel. Beautiful and strong and enchanting. But his life wasn't perfect either.
So their friendship blossoms and they were happy, at least they had each other but then suddenly things changed. Leah and Carter start over at a new place, and things between them heats up. Yet, you know something is amiss. What it is eludes Leah at every turn? While Carter is absolutely oblivious. Oh Carter! His inner monologue totally breaks your hear. Carter and his secrets. Secrets that he keeps even from his best friend. And at times he was a complete a-hole, I know the why of it but it still hurt my heart.
I loved Leah's passion for Carter's music, she pushed him and supported him all through. And it was beautiful to watch him grow with his art. But it was also hard to watch him embrace the fame. Or so it seemed.
So do the secrets mean Leah and Carter don't make it? Or does the fame post a problem for them? Is something going to ruin them or will their friendship and love and passion survive it after all.
For me this was an extremely emotional read, what Leah felt, her thoughts and her struggles resonated through me, because I think everyone who's ever loved does always tend to do what she did. This book shattered me and made me bawl like a baby and got the better of me and made me cry-dial the author, not drunk dial, YES I cry-voice-messaged the author to tell her how much I loved it.
So to find out if Leah will have her happy ever after, you have to 1-click it and spend a few hours to find out about this young girl, who found love in the most unlikely of places and may or may not get her happy ever after.

Wow. That was an amazing book!
By Angela
I really liked how the story was told through the hindsight and memory of a grown woman (main character) but kept it real for the age of the memory timeframes. The foretelling of something bad coming just kept me wanting to read to see exactly what it was, even though it was fairly obvious what - or at least the idea of what - was coming. And I absolutely loved the short snippets of Carter, the man of few words. I think I've found my next book boyfriend!
It was refreshing to read about very real hellish situations with characters who are making their way out of it although NOT unscathed... because, let's face it, real life doesn't "do" unscathed. It leaves scars and heartache, and years of regret. And RJ Lewis brought that out in the pages of this book. But that's what we come to expect from great writing.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT*
This is part one of a two-book series and there is a bit of a cliff hanger. I can't wait for the second book because the book two Prologue was intriguing. I am so ready for the "WTF" lead-in to be answered!
Great writing RJ Lewis. I mean it!
